Abstract:LLM agents are increasingly expected not only to complete isolated tasks, but also to carry bounded representations of human expertise, judgment, and interaction style. Building such person-grounded agents remains difficult because actionable knowledge associated with a person or role is usually embedded in heterogeneous traces rather than written as clean instructions. Existing memory and persona systems capture fragments of this evidence, while skill frameworks provide portable packaging formats; however, there is no end-to-end workflow for distilling these traces into inspectable, correctable, and agent-usable skills. We present an automated trace-to-skill distillation system for generating person-grounded AI skills via expert knowledge distillation. Given materials from a target person or role, COLLEAGUE.SKILL produces a versioned skill package with two coordinated tracks: a capability track for practices, mental models, and decision heuristics, and a bounded behavior track for communication style, interaction rules, and correction history. The package can be inspected, invoked, updated through natural-language feedback, rolled back, installed across agent hosts, and optionally prepared for controlled distribution. We describe the artifact contract, generation workflow, correction lifecycle, deployment surface, and domain presets implemented in the open-source system. At the time of writing, the public repository has approximately 18.5k GitHub stars; the gallery lists 215 skills from 165 contributors and more than 100k cumulative stars across listed skill cards. The system illustrates how person-grounded skills can be represented as portable, correctable packages rather than opaque prompts or hidden memories.
Abstract:Modern open-world agents such as OpenClaw exhibit powerful cross-environment execution capabilities yet introduce broad new safety risk sources. Meanwhile, advanced frontier AI models drastically lower attack barriers, rendering current agent alignment frameworks inadequate for real-world deployment. To tackle these emerging threats, we propose a lightweight and scalable agent safety alignment framework. Specifically, we update the agent safety taxonomy to accommodate emergent risks from Codex and OpenClaw execution scenarios. We further build a taxonomy-guided data engine with influence-function purification to train lightweight AgentDoG 1.5 variants (0.8B, 2B, 4B, and 8B parameters) using only around 1k samples, achieving comparable performance with leading closed-source models (e.g., GPT-5.4). Based on AgentDoG 1.5, we construct a highly efficient agentic safety SFT and RL training environment, which reduces deployment overhead in Docker-level environments by two orders of magnitude. Finally, we deploy AgentDoG 1.5 as a training-free online guardrail for real-time safety moderation. Extensive experimental results indicate that AgentDoG 1.5 achieves state-of-the-art performance in diverse and complex interactive agentic scenarios. All models and datasets are openly released.
Abstract:Despite the rapid deployment of LLMs into classrooms, validating educational AI remains uniquely intractable: interventions act on developing learners whose cognitive and social trajectories are irreversibly shaped, while real-world trials are slow, ethically constrained, and institutionally locked. LLM-based educational simulators have emerged as a potential remedy, but many still collapse learning into persona-conditioned role-play and, when optimized only to reproduce existing classrooms, can structurally penalize the institutional novelty that pedagogical reform requires. In this work, we introduce AgentSchool, an LLM-driven multi-agent simulator that models learning as state transition rather than prompted behavior. AgentSchool couples cognitively growable student agents -- equipped with weighted subject knowledge graphs, thinking-workflow pools, and explicit misconceptions -- with adaptive teacher agents that plan, scaffold, and reflect along the Zone of Proximal Development, embedded in a configurable scenery generator that situates instruction within both formal and informal learning fields, and a multi-scale simulator that decouples interaction scale, temporal granularity, and simulation duration. Experiments show that structured student agents produce more differentiated mastery and misconception traces than a baseline simulator, while teacher-agent comparisons show backbone-dependent patterns consistent with ZPD-informed adaptation. Further, AgentSchool generates plausible traces of peripheral participation, clique formation, aggressor-induced cohesion, and opinion-leader emergence consistent with classroom social theories. Beyond its role as an educational research instrument, AgentSchool frames education as a socially meaningful testbed for long-horizon memory, multi-agent coordination, and future institutional reasoning under organizational pressure.
Abstract:As LLMs are increasingly deployed as agents, reliable assessment of their agentic capabilities has become essential. However, reported benchmark scores often jointly reflect model capability and the implementation choices each benchmark is packaged with, making cross-benchmark results difficult to interpret as clean measurements of the underlying model. In this work, we present a unified framework for the fair evaluation of LLM agentic capabilities. Driven by a unified configuration system, the framework integrates diverse benchmarks into a standardized instruction--tool--environment format, executes agents through a fixed ReAct-style architecture within a controllable sandbox, and provides an optional offline setting that replaces volatile live environments with curated snapshots, so that framework effects and environment effects can be analyzed separately. Building on this, we unify the evaluation methodology under each benchmark's original task-success criteria, while introducing unified metrics for resource consumption and a taxonomy for decision- and execution-level failure attribution. Within this framework, we adapt 7 widely used benchmarks spanning 24 domains across single-agent, multi-agent, and safety-critical scenarios, and conduct a large-scale empirical analysis over 400K rollouts and 5B tokens on 15 models. The results show that scaffold choice and environmental volatility materially shift benchmark outcomes in both directions, allowing our framework to disentangle intrinsic LLM capabilities from framework- and environment-induced artifacts. We further demonstrate its extensibility as a secure testbed for safety-critical domains. Abstract:Multimodal large language models (MLLMs) remain vulnerable to transfer-based targeted attacks, where perturbations optimized on open-source surrogate encoders can generalize to closed-source MLLMs. A key challenge for improving adversarial transferability is to effectively capture the intrinsic visual focus shared across different models, such that perturbations align with transferable semantic cues rather than surrogate-specific behaviors. However, existing methods suffer from spatial-domain feature redundancy and surrogate-specific gradient signals, thereby hindering cross-model transferability. In this paper, we propose FRA-Attack, which addresses both challenges from a unified frequency-domain regularization perspective. For feature alignment, a high-pass DCT objective on patch features suppresses redundant global structures and concentrates the loss on the high-frequency band that carries the MLLMs' intrinsic visual focus. For gradient optimization, we introduce Frequency-domain Gradient Regularization (FGR), a \textit{model-agnostic} low-pass regularizer that modulates the surrogate gradient using only the geometric frequency coordinate, \textit{i.e.}, no surrogate-derived statistic is involved, so that FGR is model-agnostic by construction, removing surrogate-specific high-frequency artifacts while preserving transferable low-frequency directions. Together, the two components form a unified frequency-domain treatment of transferability. Extensive experiments on $15$ flagship MLLMs across $7$ vendors show that FRA-Attack achieves superior cross-model transferability, particularly with state-of-the-art performance on GPT-5.4, Claude-Opus-4.6 and Gemini-3-flash.
Abstract:As LLMs continue to scale, improving training efficiency increasingly depends on using data more effectively. Data selection addresses this problem by allocating a limited training budget to samples that best promote a target behavior. Existing methods usually represent the target behavior with a set of target examples, but often treat these examples as equally important. This can be inefficient because target examples may differ in their relevance to the current model: examples closer to the model's current behavior provide more actionable guidance than those farther away. We propose PRISM (PReference-aware Influence-function-based Data Selection Method for Efficient Fine-Tuning), which uses the current model's preference to weight target examples and construct a preference-aware target representation. PRISM then scores candidate training samples by their alignment with this representation, concentrating the data budget on samples more likely to move the model toward the target behavior. Theoretical analysis shows that this preference weighting yields a more effective first-order direction for increasing target-behavior preference. Experiments across model families and scales show that PRISM improves both efficient fine-tuning and safety-oriented SFT repair, demonstrating that precise target-behavior characterization is key to budget-efficient data selection.
Abstract:Computer Use Agents (CUAs) can act through both atomic GUI actions, such as click and type, and high-level tool calls, such as API-based file operations, but this hybrid action space often leaves them uncertain about when to continue with GUI actions or switch to tools, leading to suboptimal execution paths. This difficulty stems from the scarcity of high-quality interleaved GUI-Tool trajectories, the cost and brittleness of collecting real tool trajectories, and the lack of trajectory-level supervision for GUI-Tool path selection. In this paper, we propose ToolCUA, an end-to-end agent designed to learn optimal GUI-Tool path selection through a staged training paradigm. We first introduce an Interleaved GUI-Tool Trajectory Scaling Pipeline that repurposes abundant static GUI trajectories and synthesizes a grounded tool library, enabling diverse GUI-Tool trajectories without manual engineering or real tool-trajectory collection. We then perform Tool-Bootstrapped GUI RFT, combining warmup SFT with single-turn RL to improve decisions at critical GUI-Tool switching points. Finally, we optimize ToolCUA with Online Agentic RL in a high-fidelity GUI-Tool environment, guided by a Tool-Efficient Path Reward that encourages appropriate tool use and shorter execution paths. Experiments on OSWorld-MCP show that ToolCUA achieves 46.85% accuracy, a relative improvement of approximately 66% over the baseline, establishing a new state of the art among models of comparable scale. It also improves by 3.9% over GUI-only settings, demonstrating effective GUI-Tool orchestration. The results further suggest that training in a hybrid action space is a promising paradigm for real-world digital agents. Open-sourced here: https://x-plug.github.io/ToolCUA/
Abstract:Large language and vision-language models increasingly power agents that act on a user's behalf through command-line interface (CLI) harnesses. However, most agent benchmarks still rely on synthetic sandboxes, short-horizon tasks, mock-service APIs, and final-answer checks, leaving open whether agents can complete realistic long-horizon work in the runtimes where they are deployed. This work presents WildClawBench, a native-runtime benchmark of 60 human-authored, bilingual, multimodal tasks spanning six thematic categories. Each task averages roughly 8 minutes of wall-clock time and over 20 tool calls, and runs inside a reproducible Docker container hosting an actual CLI agent harness (OpenClaw, Claude Code, Codex, or Hermes Agent) with access to real tools rather than mock services. Grading is hybrid, combining deterministic rule-based checks, environment-state auditing of side effects, and an LLM/VLM judge for semantic verification. Across 19 frontier models, the best, Claude Opus 4.7, reaches only 62.2% overall under OpenClaw, while every other model stays below 60%, and switching harness alone shifts a single model by up to 18 points. These results show that long-horizon, native-runtime agent evaluation remains a far-from-resolved task for current frontier models. We release the tasks, code, and containerized tooling to support reproducible evaluation.
Abstract:As agent systems move into increasingly diverse execution settings, trajectory-level safety evaluation and diagnosis require benchmarks that evolve with them. ATBench is a diverse and realistic agent trajectory benchmark for safety evaluation and diagnosis. This report presents ATBench-Claw and ATBench-CodeX, two domain-customized extensions that carry ATBench into the OpenClaw and OpenAI Codex / Codex-runtime settings. The key adaptation mechanism is to analyze each new setting, customize the three-dimensional Safety Taxonomy over risk source, failure mode, and real-world harm, and then use that customized taxonomy to define the benchmark specification consumed by the shared ATBench construction pipeline. This extensibility matters because agent frameworks remain relatively stable at the architectural level even as their concrete execution settings, tool ecosystems, and product capabilities evolve quickly. Concretely, ATBench-Claw targets OpenClaw-sensitive execution chains over tools, skills, sessions, and external actions, while ATBench-CodeX targets trajectories in the OpenAI Codex / Codex-runtime setting over repositories, shells, patches, dependencies, approvals, and runtime policy boundaries. Our emphasis therefore falls on taxonomy customization, domain-specific risk coverage, and benchmark design under a shared ATBench generation framework.
Abstract:Recent advances in Reinforcement Learning with Verifiable Rewards (RLVR) have demonstrated significant potential in single-turn reasoning tasks. With the paradigm shift toward self-evolving agentic learning, models are increasingly expected to learn from trajectories by synthesizing tools or accumulating explicit experiences. However, prevailing methods typically rely on large-scale LLMs or multi-agent frameworks, which hinder their deployment in resource-constrained environments. The inherent sparsity of outcome-based rewards also poses a substantial challenge, as agents typically receive feedback only upon completion of tasks. To address these limitations, we introduce a Tool-Memory based self-evolving agentic framework SEARL. Unlike approaches that directly utilize interaction experiences, our method constructs a structured experience memory that integrates planning with execution. This provides a novel state abstraction that facilitates generalization across analogous contexts, such as tool reuse. Consequently, agents extract explicit knowledge from historical data while leveraging inter-trajectory correlations to densify reward signals. We evaluate our framework on knowledge reasoning and mathematics tasks, demonstrating its effectiveness in achieving more practical and efficient learning.
